COMMITTEES

Program Committee: Plans and executes three annual events for the Association members. Details of recent programs can be found on the Events page. Please contact Cecilia Conrad.

Development: Raises money to fund the High School, Graduate Study and International Scholarship Awards. Please contact Cecilia Conrad.

Newsletter:  Produces Key Notes for printing and distribution to our members in the fall of each year. Editor: Cecilia Conrad.

Audit: Regularly reports on the finances of the Association. Chair: Hermann Muennichow.

Membership: Recruits new members and works closely with the Program Committee to make every a positive experience for all involved.  Chair: Sandra Disner.

New Phi Betes: Is intended to bring together Phi Betes who are young (and young at heart) for more informal events like Saturday morning hikes, potluck suppers at the Hollywood Bowl, or attending a Dodgers Game. We are actively seeking people to organize and enliven this committee. If you are interested in becoming more involved, please contact Bette Napoli Harris.

Graduate Scholarships:  Administers a scholarship program, called the Graduate Study Award, for initiates of Southern California Phi Beta Kappa chapters. Chair:  C. Scott Littleton.

International Scholarships:  Administers a scholarship program for foreign students engaged in graduate study in Southern California. Chair: Peggy Maradudin.

High School Awards: A annually awards $400 to deserving high school seniors in two Los Angeles high schools designed to help students pay college and university application fees. Chair: James Herr.

Website: Creates, monitors, and updates the Association Web Site. Chair: C. Scott Littleton.
